When there has been a consistent experiences of difficulty, discouragement often follows. No matter how hard someone tries to encourage themself, find inspiration, listen to fun and inspiring music, discouragement still lingers in the subconscious. Even though you may feel like your life has had more obstacles than wins, that means that there is still more life to live.

The Buddhist believe that pain is inevitable but suffering is optional. I come to think that negative experiences aren’t something to avoid but rather to understand because everything is temporary, you know? good and bad.. Pain, sadness, stress.. they all pass. Suffering often arises when we cling to pleasure or resist discomfort. The importance of showing ourselves compassion and using mindfulness to navigate negative emotions is key to overcoming discouragement.
Instead of reacting, we learn to sit with pain, understand it, and let it go. Start with a moment of stillness. Sit with your feelings without judgment. You don't need to fix it right away and just acknowledge it.
“This is hard right now. And that’s okay.”
Try: A few deep, mindful breaths. Inhale through your nose, hold for 3 seconds, exhale slowly. Instead of thinking, “I’m not where I want to be,” try asking, “What’s one small thing I can do today to move forward?”
Tiny wins build momentum.
